Self-taught Postovyi began painting as a reflection on self-identification, self-inadequacy and protest within the realities of contemporary Ukraine. His early practice started by intervening in the streets of Dnipro and Kyiv with large-scale abstract graffiti. After graduating from Dnipro National Mining University in 2010, Tymur moved to Kyiv. There he found a studio to develop his artistic practice while working diverse jobs, from being a bartender to a video director and cameraman.
In between abstraction and figuration, Postovyi creates his own language of symbols. The artist explores the gap between the conscious and the subconscious. Madness, anticipations, expectations, religious narratives and the relationship of urban spaces and nature are the main areas of Tymur’s artistic research.
Tymur Postovyi, autodidacte, a commencé à peindre comme une réflexion sur l'auto-identification, l'auto-inadéquation et la protestation au sein des réalités de l'Ukraine contemporaine. Sa pratique artistique a débuté par des interventions dans les rues de Dnipro et Kyiv avec des graffitis abstraits à grande échelle. Après avoir obtenu son diplôme de l'Université nationale de l'extraction minière de Dnipro en 2010, Tymur s'est installé à Kyiv. Là, il a trouvé un atelier pour développer sa pratique artistique tout en travaillant dans divers emplois, passant de barman à réalisateur vidéo et caméraman. Entre abstraction et figuration, Postovyї crée son propre langage de symboles. L'artiste explore l'écart entre le conscient et le subconscient. Folie, anticipations, attentes, récits religieux et la relation entre les espaces urbains et la nature sont les principaux domaines de recherche artistique de Tymur.

Sua prática inicial envolveu intervenções nas ruas de Dnipro e Kyiv com graffiti abstrato em grande escala. Após se formar na Universidade Nacional de Mineração de Dnipro em 2010, Tymur mudou-se para Kyiv. Lá, encontrou um estúdio para desenvolver sua prática artística enquanto trabalhava em empregos diversos, de barman a diretor de vídeo e cinegrafista. Entre abstração e figuração, Postovyї cria seu próprio idioma de símbolos. O artista explora a lacuna entre o consciente e o subconsciente. Loucura, antecipações, expectativas, narrativas religiosas e a relação entre espaços urbanos e natureza são as principais áreas de pesquisa artística de Tymur.
