For several years, Fabienne Houzé-Ricard has unfolded the motif of the nest across painting, drawing, and stitching, exploring its metaphors—nest-earth, nest-territory, nest-house, nest-skin, nest-matrix (Sanctuaire). In Nid-racines (Nest-Roots), twigs become rhizomes, underground tresses that are at times free, at times contained. Contrasting scales, from the minuscule to the page’s overflow in Démesurer le monde (Outmeasuring the World), make palpable the tension between repair and suffocation. In counterpoint, SANS VOLER probes freedom: monochrome birds seen from behind, their heads heightened with colored inks, at first alike and then subtly differentiated. Without beak or feet, slightly curled in, they appear constrained, an allegory of persistent vulnerability. Here, nest and bird do not decorate; they operate as milieu-forms where memory, care, and vertigo are woven together.

Depuis plusieurs années, Fabienne Houzé-Ricard déploie le motif du nid à travers peinture, dessin et couture, en en explorant les métaphores : nid-terre, nid-territoire, nid-maison, nid-peau, nid-matrice (Sanctuaire). Dans Nid-racines, les brindilles deviennent rhizomes, chevelures souterraines tantôt libres, tantôt contenues. Des échelles contrastées, de l’infime au débordement de la feuille dans Démesurer le monde, rendent sensible la tension entre réparation et étouffement. En vis-à-vis, SANS VOLER interroge la liberté : des oiseaux monochromes vus de dos, têtes rehaussées d’encres colorées, semblables puis subtilement différenciés. Privés de bec et de pattes, légèrement repliés, ils semblent entravés, allégorie d’une vulnérabilité persistante. Ici, nid et oiseau n’ornent pas : ils opèrent comme des formes-milieux où mémoire, soin et vertige se trament

Há vários anos, Fabienne Houzé-Ricard desdobra o motivo do ninho através da pintura, do desenho e da costura, explorando as suas metáforas: ninho-terra, ninho-território, ninho-casa, ninho-pele, ninho-matriz (Sanctuaire). Em Nid-racines, as brindilhas tornam-se rizomas, cabeleiras subterrâneas ora livres, ora contidas. Escalas contrastantes — do ínfimo ao transbordamento da folha em Démesurer le monde — tornam sensível a tensão entre reparação e asfixia. Em contraponto, SANS VOLER interroga a liberdade: aves monocromáticas vistas de costas, cabeças realçadas por tintas coloridas, primeiro semelhantes e depois subtilmente diferenciadas. Sem bico nem patas, ligeiramente recolhidas, parecem tolhidas, alegoria de uma vulnerabilidade persistente. Aqui, ninho e ave não ornamentam: operam como formas-meio onde memória, cuidado e vertigem se entrelaçam.
